Indiana

Indiana matches federal SBIR and STTR awards up to $150,000 lifetime. Two more grants cover staff training and export costs. INTAP is shut. Verified September 2026.

Iowa

No Iowa grant is open today. Manufacturing 4.0 opens 4 January 2027 for up to $75,000, but you must request the required CIRAS assessment by 20 November 2026 or you cannot apply.

Kansas

Kansas Tourism has $1 million in Attraction Development grants running to October 16 and for profit companies win it. See what else a Kansas business can apply for.

Kentucky

Louisiana

Louisiana's two real grants are HIP, which pays back 18 to 22 percent of wages on a well paid new job, and STEP, which repays 90 percent of export costs up to $10,000. Everything else is training, certification or equity.

Maine

MTI Business Innovation Funding takes applications all year, capped at $100,000 per company. CDBG money goes to your town, not to you. Checked September 2026.

Maryland

Maryland Manufacturing 4.0 pays $25,000 to $500,000 and closes August 31, 2026. ExportMD pays up to $5,000 once a year. Purple Line round 3 opens September 29.

Massachusetts

One Massachusetts state grant is open, Business Builds for life sciences manufacturers, closing 1 October 2026. Plus EDIP tax credits, due 4 November 2026.

Michigan

Motor City Match Round 33 takes applications September 1 to October 1, 2026. MI-STEP export grants close September 15. Match on Main and Industry 4.0 are shut.

Minnesota

Mississippi

NJEDA grants for New Jersey small businesses, checked at the agency. Main Street Acquisition pays up to $50,000 toward closing costs and is still open.

New Mexico

New York

Global NY pays back half your export costs up to $25,000, and at least 51 percent of what you sell has to originate in New York. Most other New York grants on this page pay a city or a town, not a business.

North Carolina

NC IDEA MICRO and SEED both closed on 24 August and return in the spring. STEP is open now and pays back up to $12,000 of export costs. The state SBIR programme awarded 46 businesses on 3 September.

North Dakota

The Agriculture Diversification Fund takes applications until October 1 and pays up to $500,000. Verified status for every North Dakota state grant, and who each one actually pays.

Ohio

Ohio TechCred opens October 1 to 30, 2026, up to $30,000 per employer. The five JobsOhio grants are negotiated deals, not applications. Verified September 7, 2026.

Oklahoma

STEP is the Oklahoma grant an exporter can apply for today, worth up to $28,500 a cycle. OIEP opens 29 March 2027 and wants $625,000 of existing payroll. OCAST publishes no window at all.

Oregon

Six Oregon grant programmes take applications today, including a new $800,000 Portland storefront fund. The two largest state grants do not. Checked September 3, 2026.

Pennsylvania

Which Pennsylvania small business grants are open right now. Global Access reimburses export costs to $10,000, WEDnetPA covers staff training to $2,000 each.

Rhode Island

The Innovate RI Small Business Fund is the only Rhode Island grant open, paying $3,000 to write a federal bid, up to $150,000 to match one, and up to $6,500 for a college intern with no federal award needed.

South Carolina

The 2027 Relentless Challenge is open until September 30 and still bars small businesses. Verified detail on the SCRA grants, the SC Export Incentives programme and who can actually apply.

South Dakota

In South Dakota the Jobs Program and Workforce Development training money are what a business applies for directly. Proof of Concept is a loan, not a grant.

The $200,000 Economic Assistance Grant opens September 15 and closes September 30, 2026. Rural Utah employers can claim up to $6,000 per new job from REDI when its window reopens on November 1.

Vermont

Working Lands opens October 9, 2026 with $508,000 and no match required. What Elevate Vermont, VEGI, VTP, STEP and the Rutland grant actually pay, verified September 4, 2026.

Virginia

Washington

West Virginia's STEP export grant reimburses up to $15,000 but its funding period ends September 29, 2026. Verified status for every state programme, and which ones are credits or loans rather than grants.

Wisconsin

Wisconsin Fast Forward pays $5,000 to $400,000 for worker training and closes at 3pm on October 5, 2026. WEDC also pays co-ops up to $50,000 in consulting fees.

Wyoming

The Kickstart grant is paused. What is open in Wyoming pays for training at $3,000 to $4,000 a trainee, safety at up to $10,000, and selling out of state at up to $4,000, plus a state SBIR match to $200,000.
