Your rights under California law

The California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA), as amended by the California Privacy Rights Act (CPRA), gives California residents specific rights over their personal information. This page explains what we collect, how certain tools on our site may constitute “sharing” of personal information under CCPA, and how you can opt out.

What personal information we collect

• Your email address, if you subscribe to our newsletter
• Device and browser information, pages visited, and referring URLs through analytics tools
• Cookies related to site functionality, analytics, and affiliate link tracking

Analytics and affiliate tracking

We use PostHog and Microsoft Clarity to understand how visitors use the site. These tools collect anonymized usage data such as pages visited, clicks, scroll depth, and session recordings. We also use affiliate tracking cookies to measure when visitors click links to third-party services we recommend.

Under CCPA/CPRA, the use of these analytics and tracking tools may constitute “sharing” of personal information for cross-context behavioral analytics, even though we do not sell your data and do not use it for advertising. You have the right to opt out of this sharing.

Global Privacy Control

We honor the Global Privacy Control (GPC) signal. If your browser sends a GPC signal, we automatically treat it the same as opting out. Analytics tools and tracking cookies will not load, and no data will be shared with third-party analytics providers. You do not need to take any additional action on this page if GPC is enabled in your browser.

Request deletion of your data

California residents have the right to request deletion of personal information we hold about them. To submit a deletion request, email us at [email protected] with the subject line “CCPA Deletion Request.” We will verify your identity and respond within 45 days as required by law.

We do not sell personal information

StartupOwl does not sell personal information as defined under CCPA. We do not exchange personal data for monetary consideration.

Non-discrimination

We will not discriminate against you for exercising any of your CCPA rights. Opting out of analytics tracking will not affect your access to any content or features on the site.
