Accessibility Statement
Last updated April 2026
Our commitment
We want StartupOwl to be usable by everyone, including people with disabilities. Accessibility is not an afterthought for us. It is something we actively work on as the site grows.
Standards we follow
We aim to conform to the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 at the AA level. These guidelines are the widely accepted benchmark for web accessibility and cover a broad range of recommendations for making content more usable for people with visual, auditory, motor, and cognitive disabilities.
We are not claiming full conformance today. We are working toward it, and we take it seriously.
What we do
Here are some of the specific things we have built into the site:
- Semantic HTML elements (headings, landmarks, lists, navigation) so assistive technologies can understand the page structure.
- A logical heading hierarchy on every page.
- Keyboard navigation support throughout the site, including visible focus indicators.
- Alt text on images so screen readers can describe visual content.
- Sufficient color contrast between text and backgrounds.
- Responsive design that works across screen sizes and zoom levels.
Ongoing improvements
We periodically review our pages and templates to identify and fix accessibility issues. As we add new features and content, we test them against WCAG 2.1 AA criteria before publishing.
Found a barrier?
If you run into an accessibility issue on StartupOwl, we want to hear about it. Please let us know what happened so we can fix it.
You can reach us through our contact page or by emailing [email protected]. Include the page URL and a description of the problem, and we will look into it as quickly as we can.
