1. File the Articles of Organization, form DL, with the Kansas Secretary of State. Online costs $85 and paper costs $90.

3. Open a business bank account. Kansas banks want the Articles and the EIN together.
4. Write an operating agreement. It is not filed with the Secretary of State and no Kansas filing on this list asks for it. It is still the document that settles who owns what when members disagree.
5. Register with the Kansas Department of Revenue if you will collect sales tax or pay wages.
6. Put your first Information Report on the calendar, due April 15 of your odd or even year, $90 online. Then set it again two years out.
