iPostal1 photographs the outside of every item as it arrives and emails you an alert. How fast that happens depends on the store, since every location is an independent operator.

A content scan costs $2.25 for up to 10 pages, then $0.25 a page, and arrives as a searchable PDF. Forwarding shows live carrier rates, and you pick the carrier and the service level.

Buy scans in bundles if you plan to use them. iPostal1 sells 5 scan or shred orders for $10, 10 for $18, and 20 for $30, which drops the per scan cost from $2.25 to $1.50 at the largest bundle. The bundles never expire. They are also non refundable, and they sit under Optional Services rather than anywhere you would trip over them.

The Android app sits at 2.5 stars across about 1,400 Google Play ratings, iOS at 3.3 across about 1,100 App Store ratings. If you plan to manage mail mostly from an Android phone, read the recent Play reviews before you commit.

Virtual Office plans start at $39.99 a month and add a local phone number, fax, and voicemail. Toll free starts at $59.99. You can change the forwarding number any time, and 250 voicemail minutes a month are free. Calls are billed per minute on top, 1.5 cents for inbound calls to a local number and 2 cents to forward them to a US number.

No live receptionist is included. iPostal1 sells AI and Live Call Answering as an add-on from $49 a month, so a real answering setup runs about $89 a month all in. For a founder who just needs a number on a business card, the plain Virtual Office plan does the job.

Meeting rooms depend on the location, and iPostal1's plans do not include them. Its location list lets you filter for office buildings and workspaces if you want one nearby.

Registered agent service is the part that matters if you are forming an LLC. iPostal1 sells its own at $99 a year, in Alaska, Alabama, Arizona, California, Colorado, Delaware, Florida, Georgia, Illinois, Massachusetts, Minnesota, Missouri, Mississippi, North Carolina, New Jersey, New Mexico, Nevada, New York, South Carolina, Texas, Utah, Virginia, Washington, Wyoming and Washington DC. Read that price with its condition attached. It is an add-on. Only existing Virtual Business Address and Virtual Office customers can buy it, so the floor for an address and an agent together is $149 plus $99, or $248 a year. The first five agent documents each month are auto-scanned free, time sensitive filings are uploaded within four hours, and iPostal1 keeps the paper at least 90 days. The agent mailbox is separate from your mail address, so you can hold the agent in one state and your mail address in another.

Your mailbox address is a separate question. Every iPostal1 address is a CMRA, and banks flag CMRA addresses often when you open business checking. If your address has to clear a bank compliance check, this is a risky pick, so ask your bank before you commit.

For most people the plan price is the smallest part of the bill. The fees do the work. Here is the math on the $14.99 Business Green plan, using iPostal1's published per use fees.

The ecommerce total is $14.99, plus $3.50 for the 10 items over the 30 item limit, plus $22.50 in scans. Shipping is the part that moves. The pattern is simple. iPostal1 is cheap if you barely use it and ordinary if you use it normally.

Anytime Mailbox starts lower, at $9.99 a month, but each operator sets their own rate, so what you pay depends on the address you pick. iPostal1's Business Green plan starts at $14.99, its per use fees come from one published list, and its plan prices rise at Select, Premium and Prestige addresses. Stable charges $49 a month and includes more in the base price.

Sticker price is not the comparison that matters. Add 10 scans and one forwarded package to iPostal1's plan and you are near $40 a month. On our first year math, counting the plan alone, Anytime Mailbox costs $119.88, iPostal1 costs $149, and Stable costs $588. The gap between the first two is about $29 a year, which one busy month of scanning erases.

iPostal1's Trustpilot profile shows 4.3 out of 5 from 9,637 reviews. At our last read, its BBB profile listed an A rating alongside 222 complaints, and iPostal1 calls itself a BBB Accredited Business. Both are true at once. Happy customers rate and move on, unhappy ones file.
