How We Tested iPostal1
We signed up for a Virtual Business Address Green plan, completed USPS Form 1583 through iPostal1's $25 online notary, and ran mail scanning, forwarding, and support tickets through it over 8 weeks ending February 2026. We re-verified every plan price, fee, and add-on against iPostal1's own pricing pages in July 2026. Nothing here is carried on trust. We also read the Trustpilot profile (4.3 from 9,452 reviews), the BBB profile (A rating, 222 complaints), and community threads on Reddit.

What Is iPostal1?
iPostal1 is a virtual mailbox and virtual office service built on a network of 4,250+ real street addresses. It has delivered digital mail since 2007 and is based in Montebello, New York. iPostal1 does not own those addresses. They are independent mail centers, pack and ship stores, and coworking spaces running iPostal1's software.
You pick an address, sign up, and complete USPS Form 1583. Every CMRA, or Commercial Mail Receiving Agency, needs that form. Then mail starts arriving. Each piece gets photographed on the way in. You decide in the app whether to scan, forward, shred, or discard it.
What's Included vs. What Costs Extra
The base plan buys three things. A real street address, a photo of every envelope, and mail management in the app. That is the whole list.
Seeing what is inside an envelope costs $2.25. So does shredding. Check deposit is $4.95, mail items over your plan limit are $0.35 each, and extended storage runs $1.10 per item a month. Forwarding shows you live carrier rates, which is honest, but postage and handling still land on your card. Virtual Office plans add a phone number and fax from $39.99 a month.
Address Types and Geographic Coverage
iPostal1 sorts its locations into four price tiers, Standard, Select, Premium, and Prestige. Advertised prices are Standard only. You cannot see what a specific address costs until you pick it. That is the most annoying part of shopping here.
Coverage is the real advantage. The network spans all 50 states and 18 countries, including Canada, the UK, Spain, and Singapore. Want an address in one particular zip code? iPostal1 probably has one.
Who Runs Your Mailbox
iPostal1 is a software company, not a mail handling company. The people touching your mail work for an independent local store. Scan speed, scan quality, and professionalism swing hard between locations. Some are excellent. Others have closed with no warning, which forces customers to change their business address everywhere it is registered.

Mail Handling, Scanning Speed, and the App
Envelope photos usually appear the same day. Ours showed up within a few hours. This depends entirely on the store, though, and some locations take 2 to 3 business days.
A content scan costs $2.25 for up to 10 pages, then $0.25 a page. Quality was fine for reading an invoice. It was not sharp enough to archive a legal document. Forwarding shows live rates from USPS, UPS, FedEx, and DHL.
Buy scans in bundles if you plan to use them. iPostal1 sells 5 scan or shred orders for $10, 10 for $18, and 20 for $30, which drops the per scan cost from $2.25 to $1.50 at the largest bundle. The bundles never expire. They are also non refundable, and they sit under Optional Services rather than anywhere you would trip over them.
The dashboard works but looks dated. The Android app sits at 2.5 stars across roughly 1,300 ratings, iOS at 3.3 across 1,082. We hit an Android crash loop twice while requesting a scan. So did others. The most helpful Play review describes the app crashing on every scan or shred order.
Phone Number and Virtual Office Service
Virtual Office plans start at $39.99 a month and add a local phone number, fax, and voicemail. Toll free starts at $59.99. Calls forward to any number you set. Voicemails arrive in your dashboard as audio files, with 250 free minutes a month.
No live receptionist is included. iPostal1 sells AI and Live Call Answering as an add-on from $49 a month, so a real answering setup runs about $89 a month all in. We had that add-on at $99 a month until our July 2026 price check. For a founder who just needs a number on a business card, the plain Virtual Office plan does the job.
Meeting Rooms, Registered Agent, and Compliance Use
Meeting rooms exist only at coworking locations, and the local operator sets availability and price. We found no way to book one from the iPostal1 dashboard. You contact the location directly.
Registered agent service is the part that matters if you are forming an LLC. iPostal1 sells its own as a $99 a year add-on to any business plan, in 22 states plus Washington DC. That undercuts most standalone agents. iPostal1 also says plainly that not all of its locations can act as a registered agent, because each location has to register with the state itself.
Your mailbox address is a separate question. Every iPostal1 address is a CMRA, and banks flag CMRA addresses often when you open business checking. The second organic result for iPostal1 reviews today is a thread in r/llc titled "Stay away from ipostal1". If your address has to clear a bank's compliance check, this is a risky pick.
What iPostal1 Costs Three Different Founders
For most people the plan price is the smallest part of the bill. The fees do the work. Here is the math on the $14.99 Business Green plan, using iPostal1's own posted fees.
A privacy user who gets 8 letters a month, scans none, and forwards nothing pays $14.99 a month. That is the advertised price. It is real.
A solo founder who scans 6 items and shreds 4 pays $14.99 plus 10 orders at $2.25, so $37.49. Buy the $18 bundle of 10 instead and the month is $32.99. Bundles pay off fast.
An ecommerce seller who receives 40 items, scans 10, and forwards two packages pays $14.99, plus $3.50 for the 10 items over the 30 item limit, plus $22.50 in scans, plus postage. Call it $41 before shipping. Shipping is the part that moves.
The pattern is simple. iPostal1 is cheap if you barely use it and ordinary if you use it normally.
Pricing vs. Competitors
At $14.99 a month, iPostal1's Business Green plan is the cheapest business address we track. Anytime Mailbox starts at $9.99 a month, but each operator sets their own rate, so what you pay depends on the address you pick. Stable charges $49 a month and includes more in the base price.
Sticker price is not the comparison that matters. Add 10 scans and one forwarded package to iPostal1's plan and you are near $40 a month. On our first year math, iPostal1 costs $149, Anytime Mailbox costs $144.88, and Stable costs $588. Read that again. The cheapest sticker here is not the cheapest first year.
