Anything under 3.0 on our scorecard went out, which took Inc Authority at 2.9 for its sales calls and LegalZoom itself at 2.8 for the faults this page covers. Services with under 100 Trustpilot reviews went out too, which took FileNow and MyCompanyWorks. The rest were scored. Six earned a place.

That is too much for one simple LLC.
Swyft Filings is fast, and its five-step form is clean. Trustpilot puts it at 4.7 across 7,590 reviews. It scored 3.2 with us. That sits under the six above, mostly on what the checkout does to the price. If you need same-day filing and can decline upsells, Swyft works.
Bizee, once Incfile, is the name founders raise when they hear cheap LLC. Its formation tier really is $0. It also hands you a free first year of registered agent. It is not ranked above because it scores 3.0 with us, and because that free year ends at $149, above Northwest at $125 and BetterLegal at $120. Price the second year first.
LegalZoom itself is still a fair choice despite our critique. Some founders want the familiar name more than the lower price. Some will lean on its legal document library all year. You are changing a supplier, not the company. Your LLC exists because the state approved its formation documents, and it carries on existing regardless of who filed them. LegalZoom was the courier and the courier can be swapped without touching the parcel. What actually moves is the ongoing services you pay for, most often the registered agent, plus any compliance or document subscription. Nothing needs dissolving, nothing needs refiling, and the IRS does not need telling. Your EIN, your formation date and your entity name all stay exactly as they are. Work out which recurring services you are buying today, then compare those line by line. Most people find they pay for one thing they need and two they do not.
