Nevada charges $350 a year before anyone does any work. The Annual List costs $150. The State Business License costs another $200, and both are due the last day of your formation anniversary month. Miss it and Nevada adds $75 to the list and $100 to the license.

Your agent''s address is where bad news goes. When an LLC falls into default, the Secretary of State sends written notice to its registered agent, not to you. The same statute revokes your charter one year on. Reinstating costs $300 plus every back fee. After five revoked years the option is gone.

The law asks less of your agent than the sales page does. Nevada lists the only duties an agent owes, take in and forward process, pass on notices, keep its own filing current, hold the papers the entity must keep there, and name a contact person. Reminders are not on that list. They are a product feature, so buy them on purpose.

Nevada screens the companies that do this. Nobody may act as agent for 10 or more entities without registering as a commercial registered agent, signed under penalty of perjury. The state can refuse or revoke that registration over a felony conviction or a past revocation. Most states ask for nothing.

5. Tell your agent where to reach you. Under Nevada law an agent forwards process to the last address you gave it. A stale address there works like no agent at all.
